Shereen Holmes teaches graduate courses in mathematics for Urban Teachers in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University School of Education. She also coaches and mentors graduate students in the Urban Teachers program. She is a former elementary education teacher and academic coach with Baltimore City Public Schools in Baltimore, MD. She holds a masters in teaching from Johns Hopkins University and has taken various graduate level courses in school leadership at Coppin State University in Baltimore, MD and Trinity Washington University in Washington, DC.
Shereen has also served on a research grant, funded by the Department of Education, as a math coach, which looks at math standards alignment in elementary classrooms across the country. She is also a certified trainer with the International Institute of Restorative Practices (IIRP) and has taught the Introduction to Restorative Practices and Introduction to Circlestrainings to various practitioners.
