Onaje H.

Onaje Harper is a clinical faculty member in mathematics with the Johns Hopkins School of Education, Urban Teachers program in Dallas-Fort Worth. He brings decades of mathematics instructional experience at both the secondary and college level to Urban Teachers. He previously served as dean of Hampton Preparatory High School and a teacher leader for the Uplift Education network of charter schools.

He has taught mathematics at Brookhaven College and North Central Texas College. He holds a masters in education in public school leadership from Columbia University Teachers College in New York and a masters in higher education instruction from Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas. He inspires novice teachers to see students as complex people, not data points. He urges teachers to build a rapport with students to help them grow excited about math.
