Director - Accreditation, Certification and Licensure
Remote
City Teaching Alliance is on a mission to develop and retain excellent teachers for the students who need them most. If you’re a certification and accreditation expert who is energized by building systems that directly support teachers on their path to the classroom, we’d love to hear from you.
In this role, you’ll:
- Lead our CAEP accreditation cycle, driving evidence collection, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across the organization
- Serve as our go-to expert on teacher certification and licensure, supporting fellows navigating requirements across multiple states
- Own state and federal compliance reporting, including Title II submissions, state approvals, and regulatory updates
- Design and maintain tracking systems and data dashboards that keep our program running smoothly and transparently
- Advise senior leadership on certification risk, regulatory trends, and opportunities for program expansion
- Partner with regional teams to ensure every fellow has a clear, supported path to licensure
You might be a great fit if you bring:
- A Master’s degree or higher and 5+ years in teacher certification, educator preparation, or compliance
- Deep knowledge of state and federal certification and licensure processes, ideally across multiple states
- Experience with CAEP accreditation or comparable educator preparation quality assurance
- Strong project management skills and a systems-thinking mindset
- A genuine commitment to reducing barriers for fellows from historically marginalized communities

Director - Fellow Experience
Philadelphia
City Teaching Alliance is on a mission to develop and retain excellent teachers for the students who need them most. If you are a strategic leader energized by building the conditions where emerging educators can thrive, grow, and stay, we would love to hear from you.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and execution of a site-specific Fellow experience strategy focused on belonging, professional growth, and retention for Fellows in years one through three of the program
- Foster an inclusive, culturally competent community that supports Fellows as they work to accelerate student achievement and disrupt systems of inequity
- Partner with the Executive Director and clinical teams to oversee national programming implementation and monitor regional milestones
- Ensure Fellows remain on track with licensure and certification requirements while actively removing administrative barriers to their success
- Collaborate with the operations team to support local recruitment events and participate in final interviews to strengthen the teacher pipeline
You might be a great fit if you bring:
- Seven to ten years of experience in education, with a strong preference for coaching or managing teachers in urban school settings
- High emotional intelligence and a demonstrated ability to build relationships and lead across lines of difference
- A strategic, data-driven mindset with experience managing multiple stakeholders and using data to measure program impact
- A Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education or a related field preferred
- A deep commitment to equitable educator preparation and the City Teaching Alliance mission

Remote w/travel
City Teaching Alliance Consulting partners with school systems, nonprofits, and educational organizations to strengthen instructional practice and support educator development. We’re building a network of experienced education professionals to support these engagements.
Consultants may contribute to:
- Facilitating professional learning and coaching for educators and school leaders
- Supporting program coordination and implementation
- Contributing to needs assessments, learning design, and continuous improvement
- Supporting candidate recruitment and talent development
We’re looking for educators who bring:
- Significant K–12 or higher education experience
- Expertise in instructional practice, adult learning, or professional development
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and collaboration skills
- A commitment to equitable, culturally responsive practice
Engagements are offered on a project-by-project basis as independent contractor arrangements across virtual, hybrid, and in-person formats. Partner regions include Washington, DC; Maryland; Pennsylvania; Texas; New Jersey; and New York, though experience in these areas is not required.
